Like a lot of good ideas, Burdi started with frustration — and a lot of coffee.

We were spending time in great local cafés and shops, watching them hand out rewards with paper stamp cards or generic loyalty apps, and wondering:

💭 Is this really working?

💭 Are these businesses seeing the return they deserve?

💭 Why does loyalty still feel stuck in 2010?

🧾 The Problem We Kept Seeing

Independent businesses were trying to build loyalty — but the tools they had didn’t fit:

  • Stamp cards? Easy to forget. No data. No targeting.

  • Big loyalty apps? Too expensive. Built for chains.

  • Discounts? Great for customers — tough on margins.

Worse still, every venue was stuck building their own isolated program.

No shared discovery. No cross-promotion. Just shouting louder to be seen.

We thought: there has to be a smarter way.

💡 Our Vision for Burdi

We didn’t set out to build an app.We set out to build a better system — one that:

  • Helps local businesses grow — without draining their budgets

  • Uses smart tech (like A.I.) to personalise rewards automatically

  • Creates a connected network of independents that share footfall

  • Puts rewards into the flow of payment — not as a clunky add-on

In short: a loyalty engine that works for the little guy — not just the big brands.

📈 Where We Are Now

Burdi is now live across dozens of independent venues in London — and we’re growing fast.

We’ve seen:

  • Up to 8% increase in spend at partner venues

  • Real customer retention, even without heavy discounts

  • Venues recommending each other through the network

  • Customers discovering new places through their points

Most importantly, we’ve seen small businesses feel empowered — not overwhelmed — by loyalty.

🌱 What’s Next

We’re expanding the Burdi network, adding new features to make loyalty even easier, and working hard to give every small business the kind of tools that used to be reserved for corporates.

But the mission hasn’t changed.

Burdi is here to help small businesses:

  • Spend less to keep customers

  • Reward smarter

  • Grow together
